Banking on Humanity

banking on humanity she needs to be needed
loves to be loved, hates to be hated
wants to be wanted, longs to be longed for
cries when she's angry and laughs when she's sad
and she's all wrong all the time
you would do best to forget about her
                                        stop swallowing the lines
she feeds you with a straight face, leave your love behind
                                        -----
                                        out of order, inoperational
                                        unnecesssary, of line for maintenance
                                        not up to the task
she is not in working order
                                        incapable of function
pick another model, mister, that one's ready for the junkyard
trust me, you don't want somebody elses's trash
                                        wires crossed and batteries fried
                                        there's pieces coming loose inside
this one is too far gone for fixing, trust me sir I've tried
you have better things to do than sort these cables out all night
when none of them connect right anymore
pick another model, there are better ones in store
I've got one whose eyes still light up
this one here can form connections
                                        one whose logic center's working
                                        one that follows your directions
                                        this one's capable of loving
that one there is very smart
why do you insist upon the one that has a broken heart
It's not worth the effort, mister
she's just too messed up for help
it'd take less time and heartache if you
                                        built a better one yourself
she's outdated, obselete, anything but in demand
so worthless I'd be paying you to take her off my hands
look, her warranty's expired, nothing works the way it should
pick antoher model, mister, this one's just no good
